This is my replacement theme for VLC Media Player on Mac OS X to give the fullscreen control panel a more QuickTime X-look.

This is my second version. I did some detailed refinements.

I tested it with VLC Version 1.1.10. Older versions should work, too. Not compatible to VLC 2.0 and newer!

I hope you like it.

In combination to my theme, I use Damien Erambert's VLC Snow Leopard Theme "VLC is better by default!" (Link). Check it out and VLC will look much calmer.

No, I'm sorry. There is no update scheduled.
With VLC 2.0 the fullscreen controls are just fine now, I think :-)

Hello Fred,
thank you for your message.

All you have to do is to navigate to the VLC.app in the Applications folder. In most cases it is in "/Applications/" and look for the "VLC.app". Sometimes the app is in "/your_username/Applications/".

Once you found the VLC.app right click (or Control+click) the icon and select "Show Package Contents" from the popup menu. Navigate to "/Contents/Resources" and paste the files. You will be asked to overwrite and replace the existing files. And there you go. That's all :-)

Hello !!!

Your theme is absolutely the one I was looking for, it is gorgeous. But unfortunately, I can't find on my iMac G5 PowerPC Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11) the file where : "VLC.app/Contents/Resources" is.
In Applications, I can see VLC but no specific file or subfile where to paste your replacement elements... Help !!!

Propably, it's because you are on Windows platform. This theme is for Mac OS primarily.

I don't know if there is such a smart way on Windows Vista to change GUI elements like on Mac OS.

Thanks for the reply I though the fullscreen skin worked liked the normal skins work ie. Macskins work for Windows. - Thanks anyway.
